Our AWANA program reaches children in our church as well as those from our community. The goal of AWANA is to encourage children to memorize scripture, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, and to grow in their faith. This is done through weekly programs and special events. AWANA is an international, Bible-centered youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for preschoolers through grade 6. The acronym AWANA comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 - Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.
Cubbies is the AWANA club for preschoolers, three and four-year-old children. We believe that your child can and should receive spiritual training that not only comes from the local church, but also involves you the parent as the primary source of spiritual nurturing. Cubbies is a place where fun and learning go hand in hand. This is done through games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities.
Sparks is the AWANA club for kindergarten, first & second grade children. After receiving the foundational biblical teaching in the Cubbies program, Sparks takes your child a step deeper into the Word of God while still giving unsaved children opportunities to hear the gospel. Each club meeting includes three parts:
Bible teaching, worship, award presentations and the gospel message
Small group interaction and completion of bible-based lessons
Age appropriate games on the AWANA game circle
Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks.
Truth & Training (T&T) is the AWANA club for children in third through sixth grade. The goal of Truth in Training is to teach the truth of God's word to students and how to apply this truth to their everyday lives. The T&T program has four handbooks called the Ultimate Adventure Series. After completing each book, students receive a book completion series of major awards to motivate them to higher levels of Bible memorization and study. Within the weekly meetings children will be presented the gospel message, memorize scripture, bible study, awards, and team oriented games.
